The laminate flooring is so popular today. One of its advantages is that its installation is easy. That's why many people prefer to install it in their spare time. Here's a simple tutorial on installation of laminate flooring.
Before beginning, you'll need: a laminate flooring pull bar, coping saw, laminate glue, a rubber mallet, a tape measure, knife, nails, a hammer, laminate flooring boards and a underlayment pad.
First thing, you need to do is to prepare the floor. The floor must be smooth. If there are low spots, you'll need to fill them. Also, remove the high points.
You can also check out the laminate boards for defects.
Now, you'll need to roll out underlayment pad. Ensure that all pieces are properly connected together. How the pieces are connected depends on their kind, but usually it's simple.
After installing the underlayment pad, you can install the laminate boards now. Just stick up the laminate boards together, you can also use laminate glue. Do not nail into the underlayment pad.
There're so many kinds of laminate flooring boards and some of them may have specific way for installation. So, it's good to read your laminate board's installation guides first.
Easiest way is to start in a corner that is away from the doors. Try to stick up a row from laminate boards. Then, it's easy to continue with second row, third row, etc. Also, you'll need to cut some of the laminate boards. After installing first row, use a guide to check if it straight. Also, make sure that the end joints are tight.
You can start each new row with the peace that is being cut off from the previous row. In this way, you won't waste the laminate material.
You'll need to check the glue between the laminate boards, if it excesses somewhere, try to remove it, before it hardens.
